Founded in 1908 by John Looker, The Lookers Group began as a bicycle shop that sold the occasional used car.
Since then, the business has progressed through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions. It represents more than 30 franchises across more than 70 locations, offering new and used cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles.
Lookers plc is an automotive retailer and distributor in the UK and comprises three divisions: Lookers in England and Wales, Taggarts in Scotland and Charles Hurst in Northern Ireland and parts of the Republic of Ireland.
The motor division comprises 127 franchised dealerships at 77 sites.
The company also has an independent aftermarket parts division made up of FPS Automotive Parts Distribution, BTN Turbo and APEC Braking.
Lookers plc also has a leading division made up of Lookers Leasing, Vehicle Rental Service (VRS), Charles Hurst Business Solutions and Charles Hurst RentaCar.
